Last week, Samsung demo’d the latest handsets on the market, the Galaxy S and the Wave, at Casual Connect Seattle 2010. The conference brought together over 2000 members of the casual gaming industry to look at the latest trends in casual gaming design, monetization, movement to mobility and marketing. After an inspirational keynote from Ed Viesturs, a world renowned mountain climber, discussions continued onto topics including the future of social gaming and how to bring games to the ever changing mobile environment. Samsung’s own Martin Tannerfors, Director Samsung Mobile Innovator, brought insight to casual gaming developers in his session about the differences between writing mobile applications in HTML 5 vs. the native environment.
After the first day of the conference, Samsung also hosted a party at the Seattle Art Museum, celebrating the success of the Samsung Wave. With over 1 million devices sold in the first 4 weeks and a full SDK available in the market, the first bada device is promising to be a great development platform!
During the conference, Samsung met with dozens of exciting casual gaming application companies from all over the world. However, if you were at Casual Connect and did not get a chance to meet with Samsung or are a casual gaming company interested in working with Samsung, feel free to contact us to set up a meeting. s-Samsung@casualconnect.org.
